Vineyards on Dilj mountain
Nowadays the town has streched on the mild slopes of Dilj
mountain. There among the vineyards there is not only the
ancient summer house of the world famous children author
Ivana Brlic Mazuranic, but also numerous weekend houses
and even whole streets of newly built houses.
The wanderers on the slopes of Dilj mountain we recommend
anyway walkup to the mountaineers' house in Popovica Grove
in Brodsko Vinogorje, the popular picnic place of Brod
mountaineers, "Stribor Grove" in village Podvinje designated
for children recreation and entertainment and the "Grabovac
Wood" not far from the village Garcin, the place of pilgrimage
with the old and new Chapel of Godmother.
Petnja lake
The artificial lake "Petnja" is positioned on the southern
slopes of Dilj, 3,5 km
northeast of Sibinj, i.e. 7 km northwest of Slavonski Brod.
The lake itself invigorates visitors with its appearance,
surrounding forests, forest
pathways, recreational potentials for fishing, rowing and other
water sports in the open air.
Special attractiveness of this lake is blue color of its
waters, with the green and brilliant colors of surrounding
forests, which brought the lake the name "Dilj eye".
Northwards from this protected locality, adjacent to the spring
of the brook Petnja ("Vid's hill") there are several smaller
caves, among them the most interesting
erosive shape is built in the canyon of stream "Pljuskara",
which also includes three waterfalls on the brook.
Ljeskove vode
Ljeskove vode at the distance of twenty kilometers from
Slavonski Brod are located in the municipality of Bukovlje,
only 2 km north from the village Kordusevci. Ljeskove vode
are enclosed by three hills, and in the valley itself crystal
clear bright waters, because there are no pollutant in the
vicinity. The artificial lake with 10 m high dam is enclosed
on all sides by thick forests of oak tree, beech free, and pine
tree. In addition swimming lake can be used through
the whole year for fishing, while the grass covered playgrounds
build ideal site for sport activities.
Near the lake is the highest peak of Dilj mountain called Cardak,
and the nearby forests are full of wild animals and birds.
While wandering on forest pathways is refreshing pastime during
hot summer, spring and autumn months, skiing and sledge driving
offer great delight in winter.
Sport and recreation center Migalovci
Sport and recreational center "Migalovci" is only 8 km far from
the urban core occupying an area of 82,000 sq.meters with playgrounds
for small football, volleyball, handball, tennis, table tennis and
children playgrounds, children swimming pool as well as large
restaurant with the huge terrace and aperitif bar offering rich
selection of meals and beverages.
Utilizing of this center for daily holidays, weekends and days
of abstention from normal work routines gives opportunity to
each guest to delight in rich gastronomic offer and various
sport and recreational activites suitable for people of all ages,
with the possibility of hiring the equipment and requisites for
all these sports.
Sport and recreation center TIM Selna
Sport and recreational center "Tim Selna" positioned not far
from Selna, 13 km east of Slavonski Brod. In addition to three
open swimming pools, this recreational center has also got the
large restaurant with the garden for open air summer stage
performances, offering every evening dance and disco performances
accompanied by concerts of the famous pop groups and singers.
Within this recreational complex there is also a large parking
lot, smaller conference hall, pump station and the possibilities
to spend the night in one of nine luxuriously furnished rooms.
